Threlkeld has three excellent Public Houses each with a different character.
The Salutation Inn is in the middle of the villagen and has undergone extensive alteration and decoration in 2004. It now has five en-suite rooms. It is a traditional pub serving good quality good value "pub food" and is run by local people: Stewart Jones and Emma Weir. Enquiries 017687 79614.
The Horse & Farrier is the oldest inn in the village and has a high quality restuarant (booking desirable - often essential). There is a pleasant bar.
The White Horse Inn is a smaller establishment about 1 mile to the east of the village at Scales. It serves good quality home cooked a la carte food using fresh local produce. There is a dull no smoking policy and it is advisable to book (017687 79241).
