1 Where is Blencathra Business Centre? The Blencathra Business Centre is on the Quarry (south) side of the valley. take the road (B5322) south from A66 signed to Ambleside; take second left (very sharp turn) and continue (past houses on your right) to the Centre.
2 Where is the Blencathra Centre? The Blencathra Centre is a joint operation by the Lake District National Park Authority and The Field Studies Council. It is high on Blease Fell at the end of Blease Road. Turn off A66 into Threlkeld, near the centre of the village turn up the hill (Blease Road) and keep going.
3 Where is Blencathra Business Park? Here is Four Seasons Foods and Ken Hebson Builders. Leave A66 at the Penrith (east) end of the village and immediately turn right; continue for about 400 yards.
4 Where can I get a meal? Try one of the three pubs: Horse & Farrier, Salutation and White Horse. At certain times you may need to book ahead.
5 Where is the nearest shop? Threlkeld has a Paper Shop and Post Office near the Horse & Farrier. (The Post Office opens 9 am to 3 pm on Monday, Tuesday & Thursday.)

Where can I park my car?

There is plenty of easy parking at: Dickney (up Blease Road to the first bend); at: Station Road (the closed off road running south from the War Memorial near the Village hall); below Blease Fell above the Blencathra Centre. Other parking is at: the rear of the Public Room.

Please avoid the awkward bend where Blease Road starts..........................................................................................top

Where is the Public telephone?

At the east end of the village near the Bus Shelter.
Just east of the White Horse Inn at Scales (on the old road)

Where is Threlkeld Quarry & Mining Museum?

 Take the road to the Blencathra Business Centre on the south side of the valley and turn right up the hill as you reach the Centre........................................................................................top
9 When are the Church services? Normally 9.30 am every Sunday at St Mary's in Threlkeld and 11 am at St John's in the Vale Church...................................top
10 Where is St John's in the Vale Church? Leave A66 south (B5322 signed to Ambleside) for about 1.3 miles. Take the right turn (it is the first) and follow the signs to the Church. It is on the saddle between the Vale and the Naddle Valley..........................................................................top
11 Where can I find the Rector? The Rectory is near the west end of the village about 300 yards west of the Public Room. The Rector is responsible for St Mary's, Threlkeld and St John's in the Vale and Wythburn parishes as well as the Diocesan Youth Centre at St John's church..................................................................................... top
12 How do I find the start of the Railway Footpath?

Walk to the west of the village until you come to a finger post (to Derwentfolds and Wescoe) on a grass triangle. Here you have a choice.

(1) the simple way - continue on the wide road to your left, down to the by-pass. Keep on the footpath on the right of the road which leads you to the Railway Footpath.

(2) less simple but with superb views - take the narrow road to your right and continue for about a mile to Wesco hamlet; turn left down the road marked "Unsuitable for road vehicles"; this is fairly steep and at the bottom crosses a river by a small humped bridge; 30 yards further on there is a gate to your left and a short path across a field to the Railway Footpath; turn right for Keswick or left to return to Threlkeld...................... top
13 Are there any Public Toilets? Yes! At the rear of the Public Room, just west of the Blease Road junction with the village road....................................... top
14 Where is Keswick Golf Club Keswick Golf Club is in Threlkeld! Take A66 towards Penrith, take first turn on right about 400 yards east of the Pavilion - if not signed to the golf club it is signed to Threlkeld Hall, continue past the farm and across the river to the clubhouse.................................................top
