| 1 | Where is Blencathra Business Centre? | The Blencathra Business Centre is on the Quarry (south) side of the valley. take the road (B5322) south from A66 signed to Ambleside; take second left (very sharp turn) and continue (past houses on your right) to the Centre. |
| 2 | Where is the Blencathra Centre? | The Blencathra Centre is a joint operation by the Lake District National Park Authority and The Field Studies Council. It is high on Blease Fell at the end of Blease Road. Turn off A66 into Threlkeld, near the centre of the village turn up the hill (Blease Road) and keep going. |
| 3 | Where is Blencathra Business Park? | Here is Four Seasons Foods and Ken Hebson Builders. Leave A66 at the Penrith (east) end of the village and immediately turn right; continue for about 400 yards. |
| 4 | Where can I get a meal? | Try one of the three pubs: Horse & Farrier, Salutation and White Horse. At certain times you may need to book ahead. |

| 12 | How do I find the start of the Railway Footpath? | Walk to the west of the village until you come to a finger post (to Derwentfolds and Wescoe) on a grass triangle. Here you have a choice. (1) the simple way - continue on the wide road to your left, down to the by-pass. Keep on the footpath on the right of the road which leads you to the Railway Footpath. (2) less simple but with superb views - take the narrow road to your right and continue for about a mile to Wesco hamlet; turn left down the road marked "Unsuitable for road vehicles"; this is fairly steep and at the bottom crosses a river by a small humped bridge; 30 yards further on there is a gate to your left and a short path across a field to the Railway Footpath; turn right for Keswick or left to return to Threlkeld...................... top |
