Founded in 1992
by 25 villagers to play Short Mat Bowls in the Public Rooms, the club meets
every Tuesday at 7.00 pm until after 9.00. There are two mats and there
is a good attendance each week. There is usually a short break in August.
Visitors are always welcome and will find a warm and friendly atmosphere. Matches are held between Blencathra and Thirlmere, Penruddock, St Herbert's (Keswick) and Ireby. Contact Ron Horne 017687 79265 |
| Founded only in
2002, the Bridge Club meeting in the Public Room is presently suspended
for lack of regular players. However Bridge is played in village homes. Play is informal and friendly and standards of players range from recent beginners, through the rusty to the fairly expert. There are (virtually) no post mortems, no falling out, no egos and no prizes. Contacts Steven Oldfield 79950 & Stuart Cresswell 79262 |
