He resided Dockray between 1845 and 1848 ⁽¹⁶¹⁾ and at Greening between 1850 and 1859 both in Matterdale, CUL, ENG.⁽¹⁶²⁾ and from 1860 Cove, Watermillock farming 60 acres Census 1841 farm labourer at Dockray Green with wife 1844 yeoman of Dockray (per M Cole) Census 1851 at Greening, Matterdale, CUL, ENG.⁽¹⁶³⁾ ?75 acres age 33 with wife Sarah (b Dalston) 30, ch Thomas 7, Mary 5, Ruth 3 and 2 farm servants When? became owner of farm in Dockray where he spent later life (M Cole) Census 1871 in Dockray, Matterdale, CUL, ENG. ⁽¹⁶⁴⁾ Age 54 landowner of 50 acres born Matterdale. (Present his wife Sarah born Dalston, CUL age 50 and unmarried daughters Mary (24) and Sarah (11) and grandson William Martin (3). Children born in Matterdale) He died in 1905 in Troutbeck, CUL, ENG.

Died age 88 after being thrown from his trap when horse bolted - startled by train while passing over Troutbeck rail bridge. His widow survived 6 months

He married Sarah LITTLE in Castle Sowerby, CUL, ENG. Sarah LITTLE was born about 1821 in Dalston, CUL, ENG. Census 1851Greening in Matterdale, CUL, ENG. wife of Joseph Martin b Dalston abt 1818 with children Thomas 7, Mary 5, Ruth 3, all born Matterdale ⁽¹⁶⁵⁾ Census 1871 in Dockray, Matterdale, CUL, ENG. ⁽¹⁶⁶⁾ With husband and children Mary, Sarah, and grandson William She died about 1905 in Grassthwaite How, CUL, ENG. home of her daughter Mary and son-in-law Joe Bowman huntsman to the Ullswater Hounds
