FIRST GENERATION

1. Hugh MARTIN was born before 1542.(20 years before presumed marriage) He died on 28 Oct 1575.

He was a Copyhold tenant right for Border service of Thackthwaite

His will 28 Oct 1575 (day of death) was proved 15 Nov 1575 Carlisle and left third of his land to his Widow for life or earlier remarriage (custom of Barony of Greystoke), an ark, an ambry and farming implements and rising gear to Richard (eldest son) Residue between children Edward, John, Agnes. (per M Cole)

He died at an early age (per M Cole) and presumably suddenly as his will was dated the same day.

He married Agnes before 1562.(presumed date of son Richard's birth) Agnes was born about 1542 (20 years before presumed marriage). She proved son's will in 1600. She was predeceased by sons John 1593 and Edward 1599 (per M Cole) She died in 1604. ⁽¹⁾ and was buried on 8 Jan 1604 in Watermillock, CUL, ENG.
