11. Edward MARTIN of Thackthwaite was born in 1595 in Watermillock, CUL, ENG.⁽³⁾ He was christened there on 3 Jan 1595 He died before 11 Oct 1670.⁽²⁾

He was Churchwarden ? 1620, 1630, 1644, 1645

His will signed 22 May 1670 and proved in Carlisle11 Oct 1670 estinated at £29-11-6 left half ark to 3rd son Edward until grandson Edward son of Richard came of age (per M Cole) The will mentions: son John, son Edward, son Richard (not of age), dau Margaret, dau Elizabeth

He married Agnes GILBANK in 1621 in Threlkeld, CUL, ENG. Agnes GILBANK died in 1623. 1623 was a year of great famine in Cumberland

Note: The following information may be relevant to this family:

Anthony Gillbank of Guardhouse left £20 in his will 1659 for the schoolmaster at Threlkeld (this money is now in the Towngate Estate charity) This may be Agnes brother

1633 in parish register of Threlkeld Antonio Gilbank and his wife had "formes". also John & William Gilbank of Wlkthwaite and their wives . These were "pew allocations in the church)
