MINES OF LAKELAND EXPLORATION SOCIETY
MOLES
MOLES is open to anyone with interest in mining heritage.
We are particularly concerned with exploring and recording the hard rock mines of the Lake District.
I will add more information in due course.
Each year there is a Meets Programme for members only - usually with underground expeditions and some needing specialised skills such as SRT.
For non-members Ian Tyler leads Mines Heritage Walks each month in thr summer
The programme for 2008 will be added as soon as it is fixed
The Members AGM and Social takes place in March each year at a venue in the Lake District. Usually it is preceded by the first Meet of the year.
On the following day (Sunday) there is a morning Mines Heritage walk open to everyone after which the Keswick Mining Museum is open with buffet and soup.
